Josi’s 4 Tips for Picking Your First Rope:
Always start off with a light weight rope
(less than 14 oz or 0.4 kg)
We love our heavy ropes, but we need lighter ones when we first begin
Follow the length recommendations for your height

Choose performance over pretty
Ropes come in a rainbow of colors, but don’t let that be the deciding factor
Understand WHIP vs DRAG
The Whip of a rope is how it slices the air
The Drag of a rope is how it floats in the air
We recommend choosing a first rope that has more whip than drag. This will give you a faster rope that will provide heightened feedback for your hands and your whole being to ‘read’ the alignment your movement has with the rope. The increased feedback is really good when starting out because it gives your body easier access to the subtle adjustments that can be made to influence the rope’s rotation.
Current recommendations for which SlushRope to choose first:
Lychee (Starter Size - 8 ft weighs 0.9 lbs and has a good whip)
Blue Radberry (Starter Size - 8 ft weighs 0.9 lbs and has a good whip)
Aloe Grape (Starter Size - 8 ft weighs 0.9 lbs and has a good whip)
